ABOUT THE BEERS
Some of our ales (ie: Attaboy IPA) are brewed with locally grown (literally around the corner) hops. Pictured Randy (Hop farmer) and Matt (Brewer)
The Pleasanton Main Street Brewery brews ales exclusively. Ales are the traditional brewing style of the British Isles, and are made using a top-fermenting yeast. They can range in color from golden to dark brown and typically are full bodied and hearty beers.
Main Street Strawberry Blond Wheat This pale golden hefeweizen is brewed with 35% wheat malt and 10 pounds of pure strawberries. The light addition of Mt. Hood and Hallertau hops provide the aroma and bitterness. Leaving the beer unfiltered enhances the mouthfeel of the subtle malt and hop flavors. Served with a slice of lemon to compliment the mild and stimulating acidity of the beer. Very refreshing at any time! 3.8 A.B.V.
Pleasanton Pale Ale Brewed with lots of North american hops (Mt. Hood and Cluster) for bittering and dry-hopped with the aromatic Cascade this golden medium-bodied ale boasts the combination of a soft but dry fullness with an intense hop character in its aroma, palate, and finish. 5.4 A.B.V.
Attaboy IPA The pale ale style was modified to be sent to the British troops occupying India in the late 1700's. Brewers added extra hops and increased the alcohol content to help the beers survive the 3-month journey. Our deep amber colored India Pale Ale is brewed with 5 malts and is generously hopped throughout the whole brewing process. Extra flavor and aroma are obtained by adding raw (locally grown) Cascade hops during fermentation - a process known as dry hopping. 7.1 A.B.V.
Red Leaf Strong Ale The deep reddish brown color and caramel flavor from a rich blend of 6 specialty malts dominate the spice of the Pacific Northwest hops in this sweet malty mixture. Three hop additions boast an extremely rich bittersweet palate. This strong ale is superbly balanced between an almost overpowering maltiness and delightful bittersweet hoppiness. 9.1 A.B.V.
Zone 7 Porter Dark malted barleys produce the roasty flavor of our robust version of the traditional dark English porter. With coffee and chocolate characteristics and the addition of plenty of Perle and Cascade hops this becomes a full-bodied flavorful beer. 4.8 A.B.V.
We also have a rotating selection of Guest brews and Seasonal ales. Our twelve guest taps include Guinness Stout, Hoegaarden, Boddingtons, Pyramid Apricot, Kona Longboard Lager, Sierra Nevada Summerfest, Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, Wyders Pear Cider, and Thomas Kemper Rootbeer.
Our ales are made with malted barley (the fermentable material), hops (the spice), yeast (the agent of fermentation), and water.
